Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for November 22nd, 2021. In today’s article, we’ve got a couple of reviews for you to check out. I’m still working on Pokemon, but both Airborne Kingdom and Shapeshooter are in the evaluation spotlight. There’s a single new release to look at, and it’s not very impressive. We’ve also got the usual lists of new and expiring sales for you, and those are a bit more interesting. Let’s get going!

Airborne Kingdom ($24.99)

In most ways, Airborne Kingdom is a very typical simulation game. Gather resources, build your kingdom, and research new technologies that will give you access to even more stuff. And it does those things as well as you could hope with a console interface. It’s a little simplified in some respects, as your denizens will automatically assign themselves to various jobs. But taken as a basic sim, it hangs together nicely. Airborne Kingdom has a very strong gimmick, however. The kingdom you are building is airborne, and it’s not stationary by any means. You’re on a road trip with your floating city, meeting others and trying to complete missions to recruit more people to your cause. Oh, and nabbing resources from the ground as you go. That strong, unique premise and sound execution of the fundamentals makes Airborne Kingdom a good entry in the simulation genre. If anything, the main weak point of the game itself is tha...
